Red Bank Generals to Join USPHL Premier in 2024-2025 Season

RED BANK, NJ - Affiliate partner of the Muskegon Lumberjacks, the Red Bank Generals have announced their move to join the USPHL Premier Junior Hockey League.

A constant presence at the top of the NJYHL for over 20 years, the Red Bank Generals started 2023 by announcing they were granted Tier I youth status. Now in 2024, the Generals made more headlines by adding a junior hockey program in the USPHL Premier's Atlantic Division.

The Red Bank Armory has been a premier destination for youth hockey in the state of New Jersey for many years but recent additions to the arena focused on aiding the development of players have attracted the attention of those in the Junior Hockey world.

The junior team has already announced an impressive hockey staff with a plethora of college and professional hockey experience.

Jack Callahan has been named the head coach of the Generals for the 2024-2025 season. After a stop in Quinnipiac to play NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey, Callahan transferred to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire where he won an NCAA DIII National Championship with the Blugolds. Now in Red Bank, Callahan has held coaching positions at the 18u and 16u levels with the Generals.

The team's Director of Hockey Operations is Yves Héroux. A former 2nd-round draft pick of the Québec Nordiques, Héroux's playing career brought him to the NHL, AHL, DEL, and IHL. In his post-playing career, Héroux has been the Hockey Director in Red Bank for 22 years.

The full staff includes:

Yves Héroux, Dir. Hockey Operations

Jack Callahan, Head Coach

Brendan van Riemsdyk, Assistant Coach

Willie Brooks, Assistant Coach

Ryan Murphy, Skills Coach

Terry Jarkowsky, Goalie Coach

The team is hosting an open camp on June 1-2 for 2004-2007 birth years at the Red Bank Armory. For more information on the Generals visit them on Instagram @redbankarmory.
