Pat Maroon joined the Lumberjacks coaching staff as an Assistant Coach in the 2025 offseason. Marron's arrival in Muskegon came following the conclusion of his 14-year NHL career.

The 3-time NHL Stanley Cup Champion was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 6th round of the 2007 NHL Draft. After a few seasons in the American Hockey League, Maroon made his NHL debut on October 25, 2011, with the Anaheim Ducks. Later in his career, Maroon won three straight Stanley Cup Championships, starting with his first in 2019 with the St. Louis Blues. After signing with the Tampa Bay Lightning the following offseason, Maroon and the Bolts won back-to-back cups in 2020 and 2021. In March 2025, Maroon announced his retirement from the NHL while playing for the Chicago Blackhawks.
