The 2026–27 season marks Ezra Gennello’s fifth as the Director of Broadcasting and Communications for the Muskegon Lumberjacks. In his role, Ezra serves as the Voice of the Jacks, handling all broadcast responsibilities throughout the preseason, regular season, and postseason, while also overseeing the organization’s communications efforts, media relations, and storytelling initiatives.
Prior to joining the Lumberjacks full-time, Ezra worked in a similar role with the Northeast Generals of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) and North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL), serving as the team’s broadcaster and communications lead.
A Central New Jersey native, Ezra has built a career around sports storytelling across multiple levels. From 2018 through the 2022 season, he worked with the Trenton Thunder of the MLB Draft League as Promotions Coordinator and On-Field Host, helping create memorable experiences for fans while developing his skills in sports marketing and entertainment.
Ezra earned his Bachelor of Applied Arts in Sports Media with a minor in Sports and Recreation Management from Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, New Hampshire. During his time with the Ravens, he served as the voice for Franklin Pierce men’s (NCAA Division II) and women’s (NCAA Division I) hockey programs, while also broadcasting more than 300 collegiate athletic events. His work included calling championship events in the Northeast-10 Conference and New England Women’s Hockey Alliance.
Through his work with the Lumberjacks, Ezra continues to tell the stories of players, coaches, and the organization while helping connect the team with fans throughout Muskegon and the hockey community.
